Point taken and I have wrestled with the conundrum of Americans thinking climate change 1) won’t affect them, 2) is far away, 3) in some distant place. And there is plenty of doubt, they think, if and when it happens, what exactly it might do, or, if as many believe, humans will simply prepare and adapt. Of course it has begun and it becomes increasingly devastating every day we neglect it. But, after all, it’s not a sudden impact nuclear winter that is easy to envision. And people are basically willfully ignorant and greedy. Even though I will keep insisting that we can do better, just between you and me, I do not believe we will sustain any mitigation or decarbonization in the next 20 years. But thanks for the ride. And, by the way, there are some big ole asteroids out there!
